Depending on the use case we are supporting, some of the factors we can consider include parallelization, online vs. In order to empower optimizing service usage, we have to think about building based on understanding end to end user workflows (whether they need real time processing, for example). Processing each video frame or a bunch of 1GB files in the cloud over a network, is going to be a slow and tricky process without the right infrastructure in place. PSDs can be made up of many, many layers and can be up to 1GB in size. This is a large scale effort as every second of a video creates up to 30 frames. While videos may not be the biggest files out there (usually staying in the 100–200MB range), they do require processing of each and every frame. Some of the challenges faced include video and large file processing. We’re investing in an infrastructure that scales across file types, contexts, and formats to make modern creative workflows easier. When you factor in the varying size and type of AI/ML models, you see pretty quickly that there needs to be a lot of room for flexibility on how we handle processing. With a product offering as diverse as Adobe’s, the types and sizes of files and the processes they must go under are extremely varied as we work across various media content types such as images, videos, audio files, 3D etc. Building an infrastructure to accommodate many different kinds of file sizes and formats
